Possible regulation on black carbon particles (BCP)- I. Scientific database
Discussion platform on pro’s and contra’s for regulation of Black Carbon Particles (BCP). BCP are one of the ultrafine fractions of PM10 and PM2.5. Regulation has been proposed during a session on Metrics of PM at UFP-3 in May in 2011. See the Conference report at http://www.efca.net/uploads/file/Confer ... 0UFP-3.pdf for detail. In December 2011 several questions around the Scientific Database have been discussed. The discussion was closed on 16 December. A Summary report is posted on 17 January 2012.

Possible regulation on black carbon particles (BCP)- II. Implementation of BCP regulation.
Discussion platform on pro’s and contra’s for regulation of Black Carbon Particles (BCP). BCP are one of the ultrafine fractions of PM10 and PM2.5. Discussion II is on Implementation aspects of such regulation: emissions data base, monitoring networks. The BCP-proposal is being supported by a preliminary assessment on various aspects as presented at UFP-3; a further check, e.g. on major gaps in the existing infrastructure is needed. The present discussion Round is meant to explore this.
In round I the proposed option was challenged and particle numbers (NP) was suggested as an alternative indicator. For NP an assessment is not available. A further exploration of the NP proposal in comparison with the BCP proposal is, therefore, included in this second Round. Four topics have been selected at which you are welcome to respond separately. The discussion will be open from 17-31 January 2012
